Alken and the lower Moselle

Walking
The region has three kinds of award-winning trails. The “Traumpfädchen” are short strolls of 3 to 7 km, ideal for beginners and families. The “Traumpfade” (about 11 to 19 km) and “Traumschleifen” (about 9 to 16 km) are day hikes. The tourist information office in Alken (Moselstraße 7) can help you choose.

Wine, festivals and places to eat
The Riesling from the Alken Burgberg grows right at the village. On foot you can reach the Turmgasthaus Burg Thurant (400 m), the Gasthaus Moselblick (500 m) and the Weinstube Anton Hammes (700 m). Through the year there is the winegrowers’ courtyard festival in August, wine festivals in the region and the Christmas market in Alken.
